Blake Transit Center Construction
Hello Neutral Zone Community!
Starting the week of May 4th, the Blake Transit Center will be moving to Fifth and Washington due to construction.
All of the buses will be loading and unloading at the corner of 5th Ave and Washington St. There will also be a temporary sales location at the old Comerica Bank drive-thru next to Neutral Zone.
Routes will also change and the 29 line will be temporarily suspended. We suggest that teens and families use The Plan My Trip from the Ride’s website as Google & Apple Maps may not be updated to accommodate the changes to routes and closures right away.
To support a smooth transition, NZ staff are working closely with the AATA and the DDA.
Registered NZ teens will still be able to pick up their free 30 day flex passes from Neutral Staff at our center.
Our loading and unloading zone will be moved down the street east of its current location where you may more easily pick up and drop off youth.
What is Neutral Zone Doing:
With safety being a priority, Neutral Zone will be implementing the following precautions:
The front door will be locked at all times. Teens and visitors will be buzzed in by staff to be admitted into the building.
We will now be opening at 2 pm each day so teens who get here early will not have to wait outside the building.
There will be signage outside the building reminding the community that we are space for high school aged teens and that we do not have public restrooms.
We are in direct and constant communication with AAATA and their security to immediately address any issues.
We close at 6pm each day, you may want to set up an alternative meeting spot for an easier pick up or drop off. Community High School is just two blocks away with an easy parking lot during after school hours.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.
Thank you!
