While it comes as no surprise, we are delighted that several teens involved at Neutral Zone have been recognized for their community leadership as Washtenaw County Young Citizens of the Year. The honorees are chosen for their service and dedication by the annual award given through the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation.
Chava Baum Ferris serves as co-president of the Neutral Zone board of directors and has served on the Washtenaw County Youth Commission as well as taken a variety of leadership roles since their first involvement at Neutral Zone nearly four years ago.
Hasini Anand is part of several NZ programs including taking a lead role in the Youth Driven Spaces conference, as well as contributing to several area nonprofit organizations.
Jayla Cotton and Zara Mian were both contributors to Neutral Zone’s Youth Driven Spaces conference, where they presented on projects related to food insecurity and voting rights, respectively.
