Get Restorative!
Restorative Practices build community, positively impact climate and culture, repair harm using non punitive approaches, and improves academics and reduces discipline. Since 2017, Neutral Zone’s Youth Driven Spaces team has been training and coaching educators, social workers, youth workers, and administrators in Restorative Practices using active, experiential, and collaborative learning strategies when training.
Restorative Practices services
Our 2-Day Introduction to Restorative Practices & Circles provides attendees the opportunity to engage in the theoretical foundations of restorative practices and prepares them to implement both proactive and reactive strategies in the classroom and school. Anyone working in a school building or school district (classroom teachers, administrators, behavioral interventionists, social workers, etc.) can enroll.
For those trying to build systems capacity, we offer a 3-Day Train-the-Trainer, which provides participants the professional skills necessary to train others in restorative practices, using the curriculum and materials of our 2-day introductory training. Participants engage in learning facilitation strategies and frameworks with a specific focus on planning and delivery of an active, participatory workshop in Restorative Practices. Participants must complete the 2-day Introductory training prior to the TOT.
To implement lasting change in your school or district, Neutral Zone has crafted a 3-5 year Restorative Practices Transformation Model. Our model builds internal capacity through the development and support of Building Implementation Teams; groups of people representing various school roles, who implement, sustain, and scale-up proactive and reactive use of Restorative Practices.
