This week long workshop puts teens’ interests in developing skills as writers together with nationally and locally recognized performance poets and short story writers. Participants will have an opportunity to take part in daily workshops on poetry and short story fiction, participate in sessions with guest instructors, and attend and perform in poetry and short story readings.

For teens who know they want to pursue a career and lifestyle in the arts. Participants will develop a concept-based, focused body of artwork for college and exhibition applications, a professionally documented portfolio, resume, and other related materials. Apply to exhibit in professional art shows, meet and network with a community of other serious teen artists, and curate a solo exhibition. Students will be expected to do work outside of class for daily critiques. 2D and 3D media welcome. Students may bring their own materials, or are welcome to use anything we have in our studio.

FOR GIRLS ONLY! A week of great discussion and activities that include yoga, self defense, creative art, journal writing, workshops on health and nutrition, and a day of community service. NorthStar brings together young women, with all different experiences, ideas and opinions, and creates a safe and positive space to be oneself.

Learn the fundamental principles of photography such as composition, value, color, portraiture, nature photography, and abstraction. Hike to fascinating photographic destinations, take tons of photographs, and return to the Neutral Zone for group critiques. Bring a camera or NZ has plenty to share.
