Programs calendar for July.

Beginning Digital Photography #2

Cost: $250

Each day we will hike 1 to 4 miles across Ann Arbor between photography destinations, including the Arboretum, downtown Ann Arbor and U-M North Campus. Water and light snack will be provided daily. Bring a lunch, sneakers, sunglasses, camera (although we have plenty to use) and anything else you might need as we trek through the town. Student's photographs will be featured at the Creative Types art party on August 28th. Sponsored by Google and the Dan Cameron Foundation. 2 Sessions: June 23-27 and July 7-11, 10am-2pm

Music Technology

Cost: $250

Learn the basics of our music-recording studio to create electronic music. We will provide the introduction/curriculum for beatmaking stations with mboxes and mini mac computers featuring Reason, Garageband, and Pro Tools LE software programs, two sets of DJ turntables and a fully functional recording studio. Participants will enojy workshops on keyboard classes to lyric writing workshops, as well as, ample time for music creation and recording. Sponsored by the Rodger A. Graef Foundation. July 7-11, 12:30-5:30pm

Youth Owned Records

Cost: $250

Check out YOR, The Neutral Zone's teen-operated record label. Form bands to practice and write original music. We will also explore the record label business, booking and promoting instrumental workshops. The week will end with an overnight lock-in at the NZ during which you will make band t-shirts and prepare for a final concert on Friday evening. July 21-25, Monday- Wednesday, 12:30-5:30 Thursday 4pm - 10am Friday morning Friday Final Performance @ 7pm

Introduction To Digital Video

Cost: $250

Students in this class will plan, shoot, edit, and take home a series of short digital videos they create. Cameras, tripods, lights, and computers for editing will be provided by the Neutral Zone. Topics include: introduction to using a digital video camera, storyboarding, basic camera techniques, importing video into the computer, basic video editing techniques, using special effects, titles, integrating audio with video, and more. Experienced students will further develop their skills with more challenging projects. Bring a bag lunch. Sponsored by Google and the Dan Cameron Foundation. July 21-25, 10am-2pm

Advanced Digital Photography

Cost: $250

An intensive workshop for teens that have already begun pursuing photography seriously. Students should have already completed at least one photography class and be versed in basic technical and compositional principles. Each day we will hike 1 to 4 miles across Ann Arbor between photography destinations. Some of our destinations include the Arboretum, downtown Ann Arbor and U-M North Campus. Water and light snack will be provided daily. Bring a lunch, hiking shoes or sneakers, sunglasses, and anything else you might need as we trek through the town. Students' photographs will be featured at the Creative Types art party on August 28. Sponsored by Google and the Dan Cameron Foundation. July 28- August 1, 10-2pm
