MATES (Make Awesome T-Shirts and Enjoy Summer)
Cost: $250
In collaboration with Modati Silk Screening What are you wearing? Perhaps a t-shirt? Have you ever wondered how they were made, or wanted to design one yourself? At MATES, we will go through the steps of research, designing and printing your very own line of t-shirts. Special guest artists will support the unveiling of our line of shirts at a community presentation on the last day. Each student will design and produce 5 shirts. August 4-8, 12:30-5:30pm, Presentation on August 8, 7pm
Backpacking (Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore)
Cost: $350
Test your patience, fortitude, ingenuity as we travel, sleep, cook and survive in the backcountry with a minimum of modern technology. Hiking and swimming each day, camping each night along the clear waters of Lake Superior, you will see a wide variety of animals and plants, and revel under the star-speckled open skies of the north woods. Previous experience is NOT necessary. A lot of spirit, heart, and willingness to experience the joys and, well, the less joyous parts, of mother nature are. Interviews required. August 10-15, orientation meeting w/ parents: July 21, 7pm MANDATORY PRE-TRIP MEETING Saturday, August 9, 2-5pm
Summer Reunion and Creative Types Art Party
Cost: FREE
Calling all teens back to the Zone (whether or not you did any summer programs) to reunite and show off your works of art to family and friends. August 28, 7pm
