Join us on June 20th-21st, 2012 for two full days of writing and learning a new method for teaching creative writing. The intensive workshop is designed give educators:

• an innovative but classroom-tested approach for writing to bring into your classrooms
• practical lesson plans based on that method

— PLUS —

• a free copy of the book, The Archaeological Approach to Teaching Creative Writing, a how-to guidebook co-authored by Jeff Kass and Scott Beal, published and designed by the Neutral Zone’s Red Beard Press
• one full (1.0) Michigan State Board Continuing Education Unit (SB-CEU) available upon completion of the two-day workshop

Workshop Instructors include:
Jeff Kass, award-winning Pioneer High School English Teacher, Eastern Michigan University Creative Writing Instructor, Director of Literary Arts at the Neutral Zone and author of the short fiction collection “Knuckleheads”.

Scott Beal, DzancWriter-in-Residence at the Ann Arbor Open School at Mack, Director of the Neutral Zone’s Short Story Workshop and Hopwood Award-winning author of numerous poetry chapbook collections

Roger Bonair-Agard, a two-time National Poetry Slam Champion, Creative Writing Instructor at Fordham University and author of the poetry collections “Tarnish & Masquerade” and “Gully”.

Kevin Coval, Creative Writing Instructor at Chicago’s
Institute for the Arts, Co-founder of the Louder Than a Bomb Chicago Youth Poetry Slam Festival, and author of the poetry
collections “Slingshots: A Hip Hop Poetica”, “Everyday People”, and the forthcoming “L-Vis Lives”.
