2006 Annual Report
We Were Wrong
How the past year has exceeded our expectations, broadened our horizons, and raised our spirits (and why I love the Neutral Zone)
We thought we knew what would happen when Neutral Zone moved into our new home at 310 E. Washington Street. We strategically planned, we anticipated changes, rolled with unexpected punches… In our minds, we had it all worked out. We were wrong.
We had planned for a 10% increase in teens participating in our programs. We got a 25% increase. We have also logged a whopping 400% increase in young people dropping in to the Neutral Zone after school at least twice per week.
These numbers matter because drop-in is the gateway to the Neutral Zone. Once we get teens though our doors, we can engage them in other programs that are central to our mission. We knew that the move was going to be big for us, but we didn’t fully comprehend how huge.
